Are we all slaves?

Let's define slavery and see how relevant it is to our everyday lives...

Are we all slaves? I’m going to kick things off by saying, ‘Yes we are!’ I’m also going to put it out there that none of us are really free until we’re all free. While our mental concept, and what we’ve been taught around slavery (with shackles and whips) may no longer prevail, slavery still exists in many forms. It’s had to evolve to continue to exist – to continue to fuel the egos and ideologies of those that design the not so apparent systems of enslavement. It has become more sophisticated, hidden in differing forms, and disguised within various world systems that strip us of our true wealth. Those that seek to enslave us got smarter about how they administer it, how they weave it throughout the organisations we interface with. And do it in a way that doesn’t directly alert us to the fact it’s even happening.

When one fully comprehends the mechanics of the world’s monetary system, one realises that we are all debt-slaves. When one fully understands the trickery, deception, and convoluted nature of the ever growing ‘legal’ systems, one understands we are controlled. When one knows the birth of the pharmaceutical industry and that real health and nutrition does not benefit its shareholders, one sees the frauds that keep us sick and dependent.

In future posts we will unpack these world systems of enslavement further. For now let’s explore the definition of slavery to see whether it applies to our modern everyday life or not. Merriam-Webster tells us slavery is, ‘the state of a person who is held in forced servitude’, and describes it as, ‘submission to a dominating influence’. Merriam also offers the following example, ‘the profession offered no future and was little more than wage slavery.’  Our buddies over at Dictionary.com have some definitions that fit the bill; ‘the condition of being enslaved, held, or owned as human chattel or property; bondage’ as well as ‘a practice or institution that treats or recognises some human beings as the legal property of others.’ That last one resonants with me most when ‘they’ demand taxes, rates, and infringements, all with threats of punishment and force should we not comply. To ‘them’ we are ‘their’ property.

Macmillian Dictionary is also on point with; ‘the system of owning people as slaves’. Aren’t we all under ever-growing vastly complicated ‘systems’ presuming to have authority over us? Have we stopped to question when and how we gave ‘others’ the authority to rule over us? Where’s the contract I signed! We’re all born equal in the same manner so how is it that someone else has say over us? That very power is sadly given away by us through our ignorance and fear. ‘They’ keep us busy, distracted, and fearful with a steady stream of content lacking real substance. All designed to reinforce the idea that we need ‘them’, ‘the powers to be’, or everything will fall apart.

I see a far less complicated life ahead for all of us. One which has ‘sound money’, controlled by us the people, at its base of trade. One which is peaceful and inclusive, void of all ‘their’ manufactured, twisted and inflated stories, that keep so many of us glued to ‘their’ narrative; distracted and dependent. 

Let’s also look at some synonyms for slavery – servitude, bondage, and enslavement: Servitude is the condition of being enslaved or of being completely under the control of someone else. Bondage is the condition of being someone's property and having to work for them. Bondage is also the condition of not being free because you are strongly influenced by something or someone. Enslavement is the state of being trapped in a situation from which it is difficult to escape. And my definition of slavery comes as a question for you all – are there rules which if you disobey you are then punished for? Do you have ‘self determination’ and freedom of choice? Does any of this resonate with you? Do any of these definitions depict largely or in part your life or the lives of those around you? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

There are long established, ever creeping, well designed systems at play. We are given the illusion of freedom however move too far from where ‘they’ want us and you’ll know about it quick enough. In whatever direction you want to go there are thousands of pages of legislation, bylaws, consents, and application forms to keep us busy, confused, compliant, and reliant on ‘them’ and ‘their’ recommended ‘experts’. If you get too bold and try to stand-up, to say enough, then there are protocols and costumed ‘actors’ trained to deliver the threats of fines or force if you don’t comply.

We grew up encouraged not to question some things too much. That Police and Governmental entities have authority over us. On reflection doesn’t it now seem odd we weren’t equipped to face the world with our inalienable human rights. Perhaps by design? Do you even know what your rights are? We aren’t taught how to understand the very legislation that ‘they’ say we must follow. We’re not taught and yet ‘they’ say that ‘ignorance of the law is no excuse’. Where were the lessons pertaining to sound money, our rights, the rule of law, and the principals of equity?

Could it be that without these key bodies of knowledge we render ourselves far more malleable and easy to control. Kept ignorant, confused, distracted, and compliant. The Land Transport Act 1998 and the Tax Administration Act 1994 together have 1267 pages. These two acts ‘control’ much of all our lives on a daily. Hands up who has actually read them? Who knows where to obtain a copy? Hey and don’t get me wrong, it’s not all doom and gloom when I speak of slavery. This post isn’t meant to be negative or heavy. On the contrary, I feel it’s an exciting time to be alive. There are more people awake and awakening all the time than ever before. Over the last 3 years ‘they’ve’ shown their cards, and the game’s up. We just need to leave them to ‘their’ game. Start our own; new board, new and honourable players with morales and backbone, and with the people’s needs and wishes in heart and mind.

I thankfully have the means, time, and flexibility to have been perpetually travelling New Zealand over the last few years. I’m constantly meeting new people; different circles on similar and contrasting paths. There are plenty, maybe most, that have it hard in some aspect of their life. Usually financially, frequently health based, and often seemingly ensnared within some system of endless forms to complete and hoops to jump through. Many of these systems deprive us of some of our most basic of human rights that we aren’t even aware of. I’ve inserted myself in many different ‘freedom’ groups across the country as well and feel I have boiled down the intel, formed an opinion, an insight, on a path forward that doesn’t bog us down with tonnes of new information. That doesn’t pull us into ‘their’ system where we cannot win due to the very fact, it’s ‘their’ system. I hope to lay out a set of fundamentals we can Stand on while travelling toward the freedom we always had available.

I speak of slavery as I feel to start a journey it’s helpful to know where we all are now. If we can clearly see where we’re at we can more clearly see the direction we need to travel.
